A memorial service for Jen Clesceri will be this Saturday, October 17, at 9 a.m. in the Eliot Hall chapel. A reception will be held immediately following in the Gray Lounge in Kaul Auditorium.

Original message from President Kroger on Tuesday, October 13:

I am writing to share heartbreaking news. This morning, Jen Clesceri, our beloved colleague and friend, passed away after an acute and unexpected illness. She died without pain and with family by her side. Jen’s family, friends, and colleagues are in our thoughts and prayers as we go through this difficult time.

Jen was one of the most professional colleagues I have ever worked with, deeply respected by all for her kindness, wisdom, and deep commitment to Reed. She was a dedicated and loving mother, a caring friend, and a bright spot in the lives of all who were fortunate to know her. She left Reed and the world a better place and will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.

Jen joined Reed in 2002 as a faculty administrative coordinator in the psychology department. She then served as associate to the vice president and dean of student services from 2008 to 2014. Most recently, she served as a senior member of our admission and financial aid team. In 2010, she received Reed’s Staff Excellence Award in acknowledgement of her outstanding contributions to the college. She leaves a legacy of talent, intelligence, dedication, and judgment.

Jen’s memorial service will be this Saturday, October 17, at 9 a.m. in the Eliot Hall chapel. A reception will be held immediately following in the Gray Lounge in Kaul Auditorium.

We have scheduled a grief counselor from Cascade Centers to be on campus tomorrow from 12 p.m.–2 p.m. in the Performing Arts Building, room 130 for faculty and staff. For questions, please contact human resources. Counselors with the employee assistance program are also available to faculty and staff members, and health and counseling services are available to students who may feel the need to speak with someone during this difficult time.

With deep sympathy,

John
