Tango for Musicians Concert Series 2015

The Tango For Musicians at Reed College concert series is designed to showcase the depth and diversity of tango music today. Our four nights of concert programming, June 24-27, will feature our world-class artistic faculty and advanced student ensembles in a wide variety of musical configurations, from solo piano to the large scale tango “big bands” known as orquestas tipcias. These groups will perform both original compositions and new renditions of classic tango repertoire. All events are free and open to the public on a first come first served basis with the exception of the closing concert, which is presented in conjunction with Chamber Music Northwest (tickets at cmnw.org). Taken together, the concert series will provide a breathtaking portrait of the urgently expressive music that is contemporary tango.
