Inclusivity and the Reed Motto: Honor Council Forum
Thursday, October 9, 4:00 PM
Eliot 314
This event is open only to current Reed students, faculty, and staff.
Honor Council invites you to come and share your opinions on the unofficial Reed motto: "Atheism, Communism, and Free Love." Adopted ironically shortly after World War I, the Reed motto first adorned t-shirts in the bookstore in the 1960s. Unlike the mottoes of other schools, Reed's has the potential to alienate community members who may identify as religious, or who come from countries under communist rule, or who are monogamous or gray-ace. The forum will take place on Thursday, October 9, at 4 p.m. in Eliot 314. Come share your thoughts respectfully
