Admission & Financial Aid Evening for HS Students & Families
Tuesday, October 21, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Vollum Lounge
This event is open only to current Reed faculty and staff.
Do you have a current high-school junior or senior? If you and your student would like to learn more about choosing, applying to, and paying for a selective college, please join us for an information night on Tuesday, October 21, from 7 p/m/ to 9 p.m. in Vollum Lounge. Reed's offices of admission, financial aid, and special programs are hosting the event for current Young Scholars and Reed faculty/staff/alumni families.
After a presentation on financial aid, we will attempt to demystify the college-admission process and give you a clearer idea of what happens to an application in a selective college’s admission office. We also will discuss application questions such as:
* What are colleges looking for?
* How should I present myself?
* How do I write a strong essay?
* Are there resources at Reed that I can use?
RSVP to Barbara Amen, director of special programs, bamen@reed.edu or 503-777-7259, by Thursday, October 16. Please be sure to include the number in your party who will be attending.
We hope to see you and your high-school student there!
Milyon Trulove, Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid
Leslie Limper, Director of Financial Aid
