Commencement Schedule
Commencement eve celebration: Sunday, May 18, 5:30–8:30 p.m., GCC quad (tickets available at CEP)
Commencement breakfast: Monday, May 19, 8:30–10:30 a.m., commons (tickets available at CEP)
Commencement ceremony: Monday, May 19, 11 a.m., south lawn (no tickets required)
Commencement reception: Monday, May 19, 12:30 p.m., GCC quad (no tickets required)
Parking, pets, and hospitality
Parents, friends, and family members will be here beginning this weekend to celebrate with the class of 2014. We ask you to help welcome our guests to campus.
Parking
Help leave parking spaces for those attending commencement. If possible, please try to bike, walk, ride the bus, get a ride, or Segway to campus on Monday, May 19. If you must drive, please park in the parking lot on the northeast corner of SE 28th & Steele, or at the Reedwood Friends Church parking lot. Shuttle service will run from parking lots to Eliot circle, 8 a.m.–11 a.m., 1–2:30 p.m., and 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m. on Monday. Great raffle prizes are available for all who ride the bus, walk, bike, or find a ride! CEP will email staff and faculty the day after commencement, and invite you to enter in the drawing. Participants will receive two entries if they find different transportation, and one entry if they park in the alternate parking lots.
Dogs on a leash
Please remember to keep your dog on a leash on Commencement day, as we will have nearly 3,000 guests on campus.
Commencement seating
If you attend the commencement ceremony, please leave the best seats for graduates’ friends and family.
Post-Commencement Reception
Please join us for the reception following the commencement ceremony, in the GCC quad. The reception will begin when the first graduate toasts his or her champagne. Come celebrate with the class of 2014!
