Noon–1 p.m. Lunch with Profs: Break bread with some of the current and emeritus faculty

1–2:15 p.m. Alumni College concluding workshops (pre-registered attendees only)
1:30–2:30 p.m. Canyon Tour: Zac Perry, canyon specialist, leads this tour focusing on our own natural wonder. Learn about the fight against invasive species and the exciting restoration progress. Please wear outdoor shoes.
2:30–3:30 p.m.

Networking Forums: careers, kids and other common interests. Get together with fellow alumni who work in the same or similar industries, talk with alumni parents about raising kids, and build bridges in your Reed network to new people in new area (sign up sheets will be available in Reunions Central).

2:30–4 p.m.

All-class wine tasting: Come sample wine from some of Oregon's finest alumni vintners, including to date David Autrey '89 of Westrey Wine Company and Peter M. Gladhart '62 of Winter's Hill Vineyard.

4–5 p.m. Class of '83 welcome party

4:30–6 p.m.

Reed-A-Palooza kicks off with a convocation concert. Attend the world premier of an improvisational jazz piano concerto composed by David Schiff, performed by pianist Larry Karush '68, along with opening festivities, including a welcome by President Colin Diver
5–11 p.m. Kids at Reunions. Provided by Creative Childcare Solutions, Inc. and includes dinner. Please pick up your child no later than 11 p.m. Children must be registered in advance. On-site registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis by contacting Michelle Davenport at Creative Childcare Solutions, 503/819-5554.
6–6:30 p.m. President’s reception for all alumni
6:30 p.m. Class dinners (locations will available on Friday afternoon in Reunions Central)
8–11 p.m.
Musicians' Showcase (sign up in advance for 15-minute slots via email to alumni@reed.edu)

•  Rock music kicking off with a set from the SGs, featuring Sarah Dougher '90 and hosted by Barry Hansen '63, aka Dr. Demento

•  Acoustic music beginning with sets from Lauren Sheehan '81 and Kali Fasteau '68 and hosted by Mateo Burtch '82

8–11 p.m. Folk dancing to the music of Kafana Klub playing a blend of songs from the Balkans and beyond that stir the feet as well as the soul

8 a.m.–7 p.m. Reunions Central open, Student Union
9–10 a.m. Continental Breakfast and Conversation with President Colin Diver: Join Reed's president for a discussion of what is happening at the college
9:30–10:30 a.m. Tour of the tunnels on campus: Led by Steve Yeadon, facilities maintenance manager. (Note that this tour is only open to the first 25 people)
9:45–11 a.m. Estate and Charitable Planning: improvisation or orchestration? Do you know the score for a well-orchestrated estate plan? Do you need a new arrangement for disposition of your assets? Do you need a completely new repertoire OR can you fine-tune what's in place? Can you improvise? Come join the conversation with Terry Pancoast, Reed College's counsel. You can listen or chime in with questions and observations over breakfast savories and sweets.

11 a.m.–Noon Petr Janata ’90, assistant professor at the Center for Mind and Brain, University of California at Davis, lectures on “Music, Memories, and the Brain”
11 a.m.–Noon Barry Hansen ’63, aka Dr. Demento, speaks on “Before the Beatles: A Survey of Rock and R&B in the 1950s and early 1960s,” with an emphasis on how it influenced and shaped the music of The Beatles and other classic British bands.
Noon–1:30 p.m. Foster-Scholz Club & Annual Recognition Luncheon
Noon–1:30 p.m. Lunch: Come meet your Reedie neighbor and see who else lives in your corner of the world
1–5 p.m. Carnival games:
  • 1–3 p.m., Mayor of Hooperville performs amazing acts with hula hoops and teaches a trick or two to the audience
  • 1–5 p.m. Games: mini-golf, spin art, electronic basketball, air hockey, and kiddie striker clown

1:30–4:30 p.m.

Zac Perry, canyon specialist, leads this tour focusing on our own natural wonder. The tour begins with a 30-minute Q &A followed by an in-depth tour of the canyon focusing on the fight against invasive species and the exciting restoration progress. Please wear outdoor shoes.

1:30–5 p.m. Sunny Day Keg ring a bell? Stop by the bar to get the party started.
2 p.m.

Nuclear Reactor Tour and Open House. Reed has the only nuclear reactor in the nation that is operated primarily by undergraduates. Licensed students use it for thesis projects and to increase their understanding of radiation and radioactivity. Take a tour of the facility followed by an open house for past nuclear reactor workers plus other interested alumni.

5:15 p.m. All-class parade: Wear your favorite Reed t-shirt or other Reed memorabilia, grab a kazoo, and join in the fun led by David Rogan '90 and his Allstar New Orleans Rhythm and Blues Revue
6:15 p.m. All-class Northwest dinner
7–11 p.m. Kids at Reunions, provided by Creative Childcare Solutions, Inc. and includes dinner. Please pick up your child no later than 11 p.m. Children must be registered in advance. Talent Show hosted by Mateo Burtch '82. Itching to play your favorite song, want to read some poetry, chomping at the bit to pull out those tap shoes? Now is the time to put on your performance face (sign up in advance for your five-minute slot at Reunions Central)!

1 p.m. Fourth-annual alumni golf tournament, Eastmoreland Golf Course: Mark Twain said that "golf was a good walk spoiled." A group of Reedie naysayers try to prove him wrong. (CANCELLED)
