Local Chapters-New York
Reed on/off Broadway
We are pleased to invite you to two exciting theatre productions with Reed connections, Machinal and The Jacksonian. On two different nights we are offering discounted tickets to each play, one off Broadway and one on!
Friday, December 20, 8 p.m.
Machinal at Roundabout Theatre
227 West 42nd Street, NYC
Starring Morgan Spector ’02 & Rebecca Hall
(We hope that Morgan will be available for a talk-back session with us afterward.)
Inspired by the infamous 1927 murder trial of Ruth Snyder, Machinal is a riveting look at the danger that can come from a life unlived.
Saturday, December 21, 8 p.m.
The Jacksonian at Acorn Theatre
410 W 42nd Street, NYC
Starring Amy Madigan & Ed Harris
(Amy and Ed are proud Reed parents, and they have graciously agreed to hold a talk-back session with us afterward.)
The Jacksonian is a dark comedy by the Pulitzer-Prize winner Beth Henley (Crimes of the Heart) set in 1964 in a seedy motel in Jackson, Mississippi, directed by Tony-Award winner Robert Falls.
12/12: Space is limited, but a few tickets remain! RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org to purchase your ticket at the Reed rates above.
Thirsty Third Thursday
Share conversation and comestibles with fellow Reedies on Thirsty Third Thursday. Look for the pink table-top sign and the stuffed griffin at a pub/bar/restaurant near you.
Facebook + Listserves
The chapter has a Facebook page, check us out!
Also, the chapter has an email listserve to arrange get-togethers with fellow Reedies on short notice. If you want to invite Reedies to join you for a concert, movie, drink, dinner or a hike, please send an email to the list. This is an opt-in list, which means the only people who will see the announcements will be people who have subscribed to the web page. There is an option to get the messages combined in one message daily or weekly; please subscribe at https://www.lists.reed.edu/mailman/listinfo/alumni-ny-network
