Description
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation's Graduate Arts Award enables students or recent alumni with exceptional artistic or creative promise and significant financial need to pursue up to three years of study at an accredited graduate institution in the US or abroad. Awards can be as much as $50,000 annually. In 2012, the Foundation will select up to 15 recipients for this award.The award provides funding for tuition, room and board, required fees, and books. Scholarship amounts vary based on several factors, including cost at the institution each recipient attends and other grants and scholarships the student receives.
Eligibility
Graduating seniors, recent graduates. Students in the following disciplines are eligible to apply: performing arts, visual arts, and creative writing. A cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better. Plan to begin first graduate degree program in the coming fall. Have unmet financial need. Be nominated by Reed.Selection Criteria

Interested students must read the JKC application instructions available on its website by downloading the flyer for the Graduate Arts Award. In short, after submitting a "phase one" application directly to the Foundation, the Foundation decides whether you are eligible to be nominated. If you are deemed eligible to be nominated, you then seek nomination by the Reed Fellowships and Awards Committee and submit a "phase two" application.
