The international programs office,
in concert with the Dean of Students Office and international student
services, works with international students and scholars to smooth
their transition to Reed and the U.S., helps them obtain and maintain
their "non-immigrant" status, and provides advice on communicating with
sponsoring agencies and governments.
In addition, the office works with students in their exploration of international and domestic
off-campus study opportunities that complement their education at Reed.
Reed faculty have approved more than 40 partner institutions/programs
for Reed students. Finally, the office coordinates on-campus
international programs including the foreign language scholar program.
Language scholars come to Reed from exchange partners in France,
China, Russia, Germany, Spain and Latin America. These young scholars
live in Reed's language houses, assist with conversation classes, and
enliven the extracurricular offerings of the college.
