SEEDS On-Campus Tutoring

SEEDS partners with Friends of the Children (FotC) for an on-campus tutoring program to increase the academic success of FotC youth by matching them with Reed students for one-on-one academic tutoring sessions held on Reed's campus. Most students will be in 3rd through 5th grade, though some may be older.

Tutoring takes place on Thursdays from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in Vollum. If possible, and for the benefit of the youth involved, tutors make a (academic) year-long commitment. Previous tutoring experience is helpful, but not required as training will be provided.

More on Friends of the Children: FotC provides our community’s most vulnerable children with full-time, paid, professionally trained mentors (called Friends) to ensure each child has a positive, consistent, and supportive adult in his or her life. They begin working with children in Kindergarten and continue to support them for 12 1/2 years, through high school graduation.
